A Brief Origin Story

Dean of my nephew's Oxford college:

Are you keeping chickens on the roof?

Matthew:

...yes.

I can't speak for my nephew, but chickens have been following me for quite a while.

From some of my earliest work on Between the Lions - writing for writing for the TV series and designing a chicken-stacking phonics game - to my most recent work making animated AI explainers with Minecraft Education's Agent and Chicken, I've been chickened.

In between, they've appeared as key operatives in my Fin, Fur and Feather Bureau of Investigation, in games I produced for the Amazon Glow, and as the eponymous lead in our delightful PEEP and the Big Wide World. I was PEEP's digital lead, hatching a suite of STEM games and apps.

A chicken based on Walter Cronkite never made it beyond early prototypes. But there's still time.
