Ruff Ruffman: Humble Media Genius
With support from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Google, Microsoft and the Kendeda Fund, this original and dynamic project has been introducing media literacy, information literacy and digital skills to kids of all ages and is available on YouTube and across PBS platforms.
With over 150 million streams, and with supporting content for parents and teachers, topical and engaging video have introduced topics including privacy, digital footprints, generative AI, advertising, texting and driving, screen time, algorithms and getting the most out of the internet. Co-writing with Gentry Menzel and animation with Flaming Medusa and Hero4Hire.
Featured in Fast Company and Huffington Post and presented at media literacy events across the US and northern Europe, including FOSI and ITK, this project has been supported and assisted by NAMLE, Media Literacy Now, the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society, and the Stanford History Education Group, as well as by many leading researchers.
